Bolton Christmas Festival

Scott Bannon Head chef and owner of the Boars Head at Hoghton, near Preston is delighted to be auctioning his gingerbread mince pies for the mayor’s charity.

Wellbeing Farm

We’ve created Mince Stars instead of pies to reflect the magic of The Wellbeing Farm because at the minute we need all the stars, twinkle and magic that we can get our hands on.

The stars have been drizzled with white chocolate, made from puff pastry with the mince mixture in the middle. The mince filling will have a dash of slowdown gin made by the Cuckoo Gin guys at Brindle Distillery and finished off with a dusting of icing sugar snow.

Mince pies lovingly made for The Wellbeing Farm by Maria Grieco from Dinner at Maria’s.

The studio now enables Nigel to film and photograph his work.  Videos are now being uploaded to Youtube; Nigel Haworth Food with roots, where you can subscribe free of charge and watch Nigel working in the shed and demonstrating new dishes for you to try at home.  Nigel is currently also working on recipes for a new book, one which he is developing for the home cook.  A book he has been promising to sit down and create and one he is incredibly excited about.  During the Lockdown he has toured his beloved county on his bicycle and visited all the Lancashire Cheese Makers and developed a dish using their favourite cheese to showcase their produce.

Holdens and Co Ltd

Holdens & Co. has been an integral part of village life in Edgworth since its opening in 1929, 91 years ago. Famous for its dairy ice cream, made to the same secret family recipe on the premises, as it was when it started. Now, in addition to the ice cream, you can find a retail outlet, coffee shop and ice cream parlour serving breakfast, lunch & afternoon tea 7 days a week, as well as hosting evening events.

Holdens believes in local. That’s local for purchases, local for sales and local for employment; we believe in shop local and preserve local business

The Ice Cream:

The crowning glory of Holdens & Co. is the multi award-winning ice cream. It is still handmade on site to the original recipe and has now also evolved into a range of delicious flavours as well as the dairy classic.

The Farm Shop:

Following a full refurbishment in late 2017 the shop is now a haven of locally sourced, artisan and convenience produce. On offer is a full deli counter with
